• Constant Torque Load: To manage this load, VFDs are used in conveyors, mixers, compressors, and printing presses. This application of variable frequency drives helps lower speed operation and optimize energy in direct proportion to the speed reduction.
• Constant Horsepower Load: To manage this load, variable frequency drives are installed in machine tools, punch presses, lathes, and milling machines. In such applications, no energy savings are achieved at reduced speed, but energy savings are achieved by optimized cutting and machining speeds.
