Moreover, the study states that it can also predict the progression of diseases. These results shall help the medical care providers to choose and derive more appropriate treatments for the patients.
The demand for a feasible diagnostics solution is the outcome of the fact that conventional methods are unable to detect neurodegenerative diseases at the initial stage. Moreover, the detection is also not precise and cannot provide the actual state and the condition of the disease.
How AI is Able to Detect the Disease?
The researchers put the blood samples under the observation of an AI algorithm. These samples were drawn from the people suffering from Huntington’s and Alzheimer’s conditions. The main goal of the study was to identify specific patterns in the samples that can be associated with these diseases. Moreover, the samples came from a massive pool of patients. In total, 1962 patients participated in the experiment. Therefore, the study has a unique role in the healthcare industry.
The AI algorithm was able to identify distinguish genes patterns in the patient’s samples indicating the success of the experiment. Moreover, the results also showed how the patterns aligned over the decades in the patient’s body. The results of the study become the maiden long-term view of genes settlement in the patients. The reason that extends the cruciality of this discovery is that the scientists are now able to understand how neurodegenerative diseases develop over the years. However, the experiment is successful but, the commercial production of the solution has to wait a bit longer to hit the market.
